In Kenya and Tanzania, public bathrooms have two toilets, a Western Toilet and an Eastern Toilet. A Western Toilet is one familiar to us. An Eastern Toilet is a raised wooden platform with a hole in the middle. You climb on the platform, center yourself over the hole, and squat. Convert to an Eastern Toilet: problem solved.

The issue is not that they have to make the "effort" to lower the seat. Both parties make the same effort to lift or lower the seat.
The issue is that for Men......worse case scenario is that you piss on the seat ring and leave a little mess. No harm done.
For Women.....worse case is that they sit down on a toilet with the seat UP and either fall in or touch the nasty toilet bowl. Often women at night and sometimes during the day do not turn on the light to pee.
So.... in theory... it's the same shared effort but the worst case scenario in the event the effort is not made by either party is worse for the woman.

I know of some guys who are no longer allowed to piss standing up...thats right! Unreal!
If you think about it actually makes sense as its much cleaner. But I rather be lazy then worry about a couple sprinkles missing the bowl.
Actually pissing in the sink is probably the most efficient...dont think they would like that though...but who gives a fack! Be a man!
