the age old topic of the toilet seat came up in general conversation this weekend and I wanted to see how off my logic was:


I come in to a bathroom and the toilet seat is down. I make the effort to lift the seat so I do not pee on it (thinking of the next person to come along). I then leave the seat up and leave.

What is the big deal?

I made the effort to lift the seat in respect to leaving a somewhat clean environment for the next person, why cant the person complaining about that simply lower the seat and mentally thank me for the effort...why am I the criminal?


You dont see men running around protesting that when women get done using the toilet that they lift the toilet seat for us, right? So why is it demanded that we lower the seat when done?

I had this cool female friend who when she came to me and my roommate's place always put the seat back up after she was done.

 

men don't complain about the little things. that would make us metrosexual... or worse.

 

 

i'm an ass, i always leave the seat up but in the case of my roomates dog, since he likes to drink out of the toilet, my lazy ass would rather close the door to the bathroom rather than close the toilet lid

if my toilet didn't haveone of those blue color thingys i wouldn't care

 

Woman don't give a shit about the toilet seat. They complain about it in an effort to control you, either subconsciously or not. Don't give in. Leave the seat down, and piss on it.

 

In our house, both the seat and lid stay down normally. Otherwise the cats try to make use of it and usually make a mess of things.

 

i normally keep my bathroom door closed because of my dog. When i went to visit my ex in georgia, holy shit she would chew my ass out for not putting the toilet seat down and then chew my ass for not putting the showerhead back in the place she had it

 

There are too many people that live their lives by pointing out everything that in any way inconveniences them, or anything no matter how small they don't like.
Toilet seat, other drivers in traffic, waiting in line. No matter what the situation, some people can get really worked up over little things, when they would be so much happier if they just learned to not care.

Maybe it's just the way I was raised to respect women. I raise the seat, try not to piss on the rim, wipe it off if I do, and put the seat back down. If she gives me a reason not to respect her all bets are off. On the other hand if I am visiting someone and I go to the bathroom and the seat is up I leave it up when I exit.
