My take: Angelina Jolie 3.0 stars (her role in "Gia" was much better 
), However, the Film was only good for 1.5 stars. . .
As summer action films tgo, it was pretty lame. . . The scenes looked good but when compared to other action films (MI/MI2, India Jones, The Mummy films, etc. . .) it came up way short. . . Bad use of $8.50 and 90 minutes. . . In all fairness, Jolie played an excellent Lara Croft (personality wise, looks, etc. . .) but it wasn't enough to save a bad film. . .

So what was everyone expecting from this movie? You knew there wouldn't be any intelligent plot. The only reason Hollywood makes movies anymore is to keep stuntmen and special effects people in work. It's those guys (and lame writers) who are killing off any decent movies.
