Default Is It Too Late?

hey guys name is Daniel, 21, and i actually want to learn how to play an ininstrument! but i heard now that im a little bit older, it would be harder to pick it up. im looking between drums, guitar, bass, or piano...i know piano is the hardest.. any chance of me being able to pick them up as quickly as i would if i were 10-16 years old? helppp

No it's not to late. You can learn to play drums in 6 mos. if you practice religiously. Guitar is much more difficult to learn but it is never to late to learn. Don't know much about piano.

I taught myself to play drums when I was around 15 and guitar when I was around 17. I didn't find either to be too difficult to learn, but guitar is hard to master. Keep practicing and you shouldn't have much trouble picking it up.

I wouldn't say drums are "easy" but they are much easier than learning guitar. That's not a slam on all the great drummers out there. My best friend is an excellent drummer and I respect his talent but it is easier to learn drums than it is guitar. Both take time and effort to play well though.

Sorry couldn't tell you. I've never had a lesson. I learned from DVDs, videos, internet lessons, Guitar One and Guitar World Magazine lessons.
