Too Soon to make a 9/11 movie?
My guess is that guys that lived through it would typically encourage their grandsons to kill the enemy and root them on. That being said some probably are still tramitised from the experience of war.
My guess is that America is going to go in droves to see this. From a marketing standpoint every thing is fair game. They have to strike while its hot.
I think the majority of Americans have calmed down enough to go see this. Seriously, tomorrow on your way to work. Count the number of American Flags you see on cars. Now remember back to 4 years ago.
America has the attention span of a walnut.

im suprised they have waited so long to make a movie about it. i knew the time was coming for it. not sure if i will watch it though. its a shame ppl had to die when we knew something like this was going to happen.
they need to make a movie about why no one stoped 9/11 or informed the people of a possible attack.

Oliver Stone directing? So, that means the movie will be about Cuban revolutionaries planning the attacks, the media sideshow that ensues, the platoon who tries to save the guys, all on any given Tuesday? Great, another conspiracy from Oliver Stone.
In all honesty, I'm not sure what to think about Hollywood making a movie about 9/11. It really sucks that this will be marketed and sold as a, "blockbuster" movie (starring Nicholas Cage). I guess "too soon" is a relative term. My hometown had 6 people die in the WTC, so I would prefer not to have someone profit from a personal tragedy. However, it was inevitable that this movie would be made, having it done now is as appropriate a time as any. As long as it helps America, and the world, remember the tragedy as it was (all politics aside) - a terrible day for all of us.
Also, if you remember, 25th Hour (Spike Lee) had a scene referencing 9/11, in what was a very powerful and tastefully done look at the resilience of New Yorkers in the face of tragedy.

I'm sorry but that struck me as particularly amusing.
The line that I quoted. Taken completely out of context. Nothing about 9/11 was amusing.
