In the end, Toyota is bouncing back very quickly and is profitable during the last couple quarter earnings.
Many toyota dealeships made plenty of money, Toyota created insentives to buy, and the dealerships took trade-ins on toyotas that were just dirt cheap, 'fixed them', and resold them for retail price.

I want that prius guy and all the assholes that made this into a media frenzy to win the darwin award. I buy/sell cars locally in Florida and all of the Manheim and other auctions in U.S. outright banned toyota sales (not just effected cars, all toyotas new and old). Right before that ban, we bought a 2010 toyota that was not under the recalls .

P.s. had no problem selling it but the chaos was ridiculous.
I don't think you quite understand what the Darwin award is...

I meant to say I wanted those people to do something to win the award. Something stupid that takes them out of existence.

Manufactured story, the administration and its stash of publicly owned car companies was all too happy to see spread around. The NTSB should have put a stop to it without any proof but they piled on.

Got it

I think anyone who sat down to think about it when all this was going down realized that it was getting at least somewhat blown out of proportion.

The media is so caught up with wanting to break the next big story, that they fail to accurately report.

Personally, I and many others are smart enough to know when it's just media shenanigans. But the problem is all those ignorant fools out there that start going nuts..and regulations set in which effect everyone (including the smart ones who weren't effected by media blitzes). That's what actually annoys me.

On a side random note on ignorant fools and things,
When I was in highschool, I was in one of the two IB/AP schools in my county, had to take the science fcat 4 times between 8th(middle) and 11th grade even though I and 98%-ish of my class passed it. Why? everyone else in the county failed. After the 4th time, the county gave up.

Who owns GM? Government with our money...

Who owns media? Government and mostly GE, Time Warner, Westinghouse, and AOL. (As much as we'd like to think it isn't government controlled, it is.) Oh btw 57 troops died this month SO FAR!

When you own a company you expect profits and the media insures that!

if it's not the government it's another greedy private company, what's the difference?
At-least we can influence the government to a certain extent.
