Default Traffic ticket question

i've got a traffic ticket question.

if you are found guity at the end, can you still take traffic school?

whats the traffic school for?

does traffic school means no record at DMV, hence no insurance increase?

thanks

First, go to court to fight traffic ticket is the right thing to do because if the police officer does not show up, you will most likely are free to go. I got a traffic ticket last year, on my court date, the officer did not show up in court for some reasons I did not know and I got dismissed
by the judge and got the bail $ back in about 1 month.

Second, if you are found to be guilty by the judge, you still can request to go to traffic school and most judges will grant that request.

If you complete traffic school (you may be able to do it online) on schedule, your DMV record will not show that ticket, hence your insurance company will not see that you have that traffic ticket.

Remember, the judge decides if you can go to traffic school or not. The DA will offer to argue for traffic school for you, but first try and get the judge to throw out the case. Barring that, ask the judge, not the DA, if you can go to school and get probation instead.

OTOH, I just got a speeding ticket I fully deserved last week and the officer said directly, "you can go to traffic school." It's been over five years since my last ticket but, IIRC, you can go once every 18 months? My wife, the speeding ticket queen, tells me there is an on-line traffic school now.
