Default Traveling To California and Hawaii

Well me and a friend are wanting to take a nice trip..We would start from Pittsburgh P.A. and then head to Los Angeles, California. After we get there we want to drive around and stay in the hotels for bout a week so we can really see the cities and drive up to Las Vegas and such. After being in California for that week we want to fly over to Maui, Hawaii for another week or so and then head back to california and back home.

Question 1 - Would our best bet be to buy a round trip to california and set the return time to like 2 1/2 weeks later so we have time to visit Hawaii?

Question 2 - Does every car rental company require you to be 25?

Question 3 - Would it be best to just purchase the round trip tickets and when we get there find a car retal company and hotel? Because when I was searching for tickets they added in the car and hotel for the full 2 1/2 weeks and of course for atleast a week of that time we would be in Hawaii.

Question 4 - Has anyone done this kind of traveling before? If so what is our best bet?

Extra Information - Our budget is about roughly $5,000. Hopefully we dont have pay that much for everything.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Were also considering driving. And with driving we would go to down to Florida first and then head to California.

5,000 split between both or 5,000 each?

Most rental companies will give you a car if you're 21-24, but you will be hit with a surcharge.

well rental car places will get you to pay extra fees or something for being under 25....not tooo much though,... shop around though with them, Advantage is the cheapest in my experience.
hotels in vegas are not cheap,...plan on at least 200 a night there, reserve ahead of time.
also, it might be cheaper to fly into vegas once you are in LA than it is to drive ,...you wont need a car in vegas and the gas and time might be worth it. if you are lucky you can get a round trip ticket to vegas from LA for around 100 bucks, then just walk around or take a cab. but cabs can get expensive as there are lots of lights and traffic. it cost me 20 from the airport to The Wynn which is a block radius from congested area of the strip with The Venetian and fashion show mall, etc.

Wow its very much more expensive there than it is over here. We are considering driving so we are able to see more of the country Plus were young. I will be about 19 when we take this trip. I figured since most things evolve around turning 18 that car rental did also. Guess I learned something lol. We do want to go to Hawaii for about a week just to visit but i do have a question about that also. If we were infact to drive instead of fly would i be able to have a secure place to park my car or how would this work?

^^ I'm pretty sure you have to fly to Hawai'i. Airport parking lots are always secure, but if you're asking about parking on Hawai'i I can't really comment on that. The only "bad" part of Hawai'i that I know of is on O'ahu in Waianae, so I don't you should have any trouble with security in Maui (If that's what you're asking).

Yes i know i have to fly to Hawaii cause it isnt connected to the U.S. You can also go by boat. I just dont want to leave my car in an unsecure parking lot.
This would be my first time on a plane. Yes i know its lame lol so I dont have the slightest clue about how to go about in an airport or even how the parking works

i think all airport parking has a fee of per day or per hour,...ive seen 2 per hour or 30 per day.
dont go by boat, it will take forever, vegas might be better left until you are 21,...you cant even have any fun under 21 there, its not worth it

You can't have as much fun in Vegas under 21 as you would if you were at or over the age; however, going to Vegas, at any age, you'll find that it's unlike any other place. Bellagio Fountains = amazing. Ferrari dealership/mechanic shop in the Wynn hotel = awesome. Interior of The Venetian is definitely cool as is the whole atmosphere of just being on the Las Vegas Boulevard. Yet, I do concur that you should wait for Vegas until 21 so that you can experience the full effect.
