hey guys,

i just picked up a treo 600 for Sprint last night and i've already installed "Snapper" a pop3 email client.. nice, but a little pricey ($40).

what else should i get for this? I cant find a decent SSH client anywhere, the only one that seems to *work* is Top Gun SSH, but the screen is impossible to read and it doesnt support SSH2.

i've never used a palm based os before so any tips at all would be helpful.. be it using, optimizing or applications.. all is welcome!

i also have a few stupid questions regarding the phone and service itself.
-unlimited web access via sprint's vision pack means that i'm not using my minutes while surfing RIGHT?
-after i disconnect from a web application (ssh/snapper/web), it still looks like im connected.. if i'm not using minutes (from above question), i shouldnt worry.. but if i am, uhoh! how do i disconnect??

i've RTFM and i'm still lost!

I have a program called TuSSH (Tungsten SSH) that seems to work pretty well for SSH. Also, if you have a laptop check out a commercial program called PDANet. It allows you to use your Treo's Internet Access on your laptop. It gives you a nice ~150k connection.

I use a Kyocera 7135 smartphone, and one thing I really like is Verichat for Instant messenger use with my smartphone.

Another 7135 user here! Can't say I chat or surf much with it but I don't have to carry two devices.

As far as Palm apps, McPhling or similar is a must-have for me. I paid for APCalc and I often zip between that and a free unit converter (YAUC). And I'm not sure what calendar app is built in the Treos but DateBk4 is hot stuff.

what kind of cases do you guys have? i just ordered the oem form fit one, but after doing some research on treo central, i've placed an order for a side horizontal mount by covertec.

i also downloaded chatter, but i'm waiting for the registration info to come back..
