just asking about the current situation with the turbo kit for the s2k- price, components, power advantages. this was triggered by me reading an article on a civic vtir with a turbo kit and it was done by an australian company, the compenents include (price is in AUD)List of required parts:
H.K.S. cast iron exhaust manifold $ 700.00
GT Ball Bearing Turbocharger 400hp $ 2,500.00
534cc/min injectors $ 880.00
Intercooler Plazmaman $ 1,400.00
Inlet piping 10 bends @ $60.00 each $ 600.00
6 X "SARD" silicone hose @ $35.20 ea $ 211.20
12 X Stainless hose clamps @ $8 ea $ 96.00
Air filter alloy bellmouth incl $ 350.00
Hypertune fitment kit $ 250.00
Hypertune turbine outlet to factory exhaust $ 600.00
Apex power FC $ 2,156.00

Labour includes all fabrication, installation, wiring, $ 2,640.00
and tuning of Power FC

Total includes GST $ 12,076.00
The basic kit (above) is able to produce 220hp at the wheels
The engine remains internaly standard, retaining the standard compression.

anyone that has had experience with turbocharging civics, could u chime in here, i dont want to go to clubsi and ask....

btw, i think the price is a little excessive considering my brother bought his civic for $27k (new price was about $35k)

Hey, you managed to match the price of the Speedcraft kit!

But you forgot the fuel pump.. Also does the Apex fuel unit hook up to a vacuum line? If not then you need to have an FMU..

Also, you need to hide boost from the ECU, so expect to need a Missing Link.

The exhaust is going to be very restictive also, this is going to be a very mild turbo kit.

Different Injectors will not be needed unless you're rebuilding the engine.

chris, remember its in oz dollars so u can halve it.
i asked this in the oz forum and they seem to think its high, me too.
they include an exhaust, is the fuel pump necessary? what is the missing link for??
anyone have experience with turbos for civics?

There are COMPLETE Turbo kits to be had for less than $5000USD. This sounds pretty steep if you ask me.
