Find the best coffee shop in town and buy whatever beans they use. Microroast is always going to be better than the large batch roasting you'll get. Plus with a local roaster you're beans won't have sat around for months in warehouses. I've never found a place that can consistently pull a decent espresso shot that doesn't use good beans, and that's my metric.
