Default A Unique BMW

On our way back from the beach yesterday, my wife and I spotted a ///M325i on the freeway. Apparently, the owner stuck an ///M badge on his 325i. It was really good for a laugh. Reminded me of the Type R stickers you sometimes see on otherwise stock Integras.

I barely doubt it's unique ... It's very common everywhere, Mercedes' with AMG emblems ... BMWs' with M emblems, Audis' with S emblems, Skylines' with GTR emblems, WRXs' with STi emblems, the list goes on. It's a pathetic world out there.

Well, I saw an Integra Type R FOUR DOOR the other day. Upon closer inspection, I found that this was a four door Type R with an AUTOMATIC transmission! I was shocked!

A while back, I saw a mid-80's ragged out Mustang convertible with a BMW 540i badge on the trunk lid. I was speechless..

Man, what are people thinking?!?

A friend of mine with an E36 M3 had his rear badge and front bumper stolen from his car. It was clear that it wasnt an act of vandalism but rather someone wanted the parts for themselves
(or to fence) -- they had the right tools, and only broke the underbody plastic in the front. didnt even scratch the trunk lid.

So if you see a light blue 325 or 328 with //M badging in the bay area....

Yep, there are sedan versions of the DC2 Integra Type R ... One common place to see them is still probably in Singapore. Just kinda looks weird but they do get the classique box lights not like the round lights of export counterparts.

There are also sedan versions of Skylines in GTS and GTR formats known as Autech Version too. It all looks funny though while most people are accustomed with the coupe versions of such cars.

I just can't understand the logic in re-badging your car as something that it isn't.

I mean the only people that would be impressed by an M BMW are those of us that know that the ratbox 318i that you slapped an M badge on is fake.

There is a clown that works in my building with a late 70's 911. In fairness to him, the car is in great shape and he seems to take real good care of it.

However, he pisses me off because he insists on taking up two parking spaces every day (someone is going to key him). He lowered his car (OK), put some knock off SPARCO seats in it, added the wheels off of the last 993 Turbo, but the "basket handle" spoiler on the car, and then had the balls to add a Carerra 4 badge on it.

Any porschephile is going to spot his car and cry bull ca ca. What is the deal?

On a personal note, I had one of the very first Gen2 GS-R's sold in S. Cal. I bought the Aztec Green Pearl (don't ask me, at the time i thought it was damn cool). within two weeks some A$$hole pried the GS-R badge of my right rear and scratches my paint in the process.

I'm sure it ended up on the back of some pos civic hatchback but damn was I pissed.

I just laugh at them most of the time.

I dunno about the USA but here there was a factory M325i, among other things. It's not just M1, M3, M5 and M6 that BMW slapped the M logo on.

Naishou ... Ever notice the highly modified cars around us generally, just to name a few off my mind now - Hyundai Excel (Pony Elsewhere), Suzuki GTi, Twin-Cam 16Valve Corolla, Honda Civic & Integra, Nissan Pulsar, Mitsubishi Lancer, the damn list goes on non-stop. We have a world breed of diverse multi-racial riceboys!
