The Unit - Season 2
Anyone catch last night's esp? I thought it was pretty good. I thought it might have picked up where it left off last season but it continued it seemed 6 months later. I guess they will show what happened in little pieces in each esp this season. Overall the esp was OK, something for me to watch till 24 comes back.
Some random thoughts
1) I would think it would be more violent than what they show at the end of the esp where "Snake Doctor" gets picked up. The plane snarling the balloon to snatch him off the ground.
2) Another Ex 24 character appearing on CBS. I forget her name but she was a terrorist's wife in one season. She's in Smith now.

is that show actually any good?? i started watching when the show premiered last season, but the wife portion of the show annoyed the crap out of me so i stopped watching after 3-4 episodes.
Damn. I missed the first episode. So many good shows on this season. I was really torn last night between CSI:Vegas and Grey's Anatomy.
Ultimately, CSI won out, because my co-workers wanted to see if Brass lived.
Anyway, yeah, I watched most of the first season of The Unit. The AllState guy rocks!

Honestly I think they could cut out a lot of that "wife" story and have a more cohesive program. Some of the military family stuff does add depth, like the injuries, relocation, parents / spouses always gone. Although I'd still prefer 90% mission. C'mon CBS let's see some guys blowing stuff up.

I believe the cord is somewhat elastic so it would slow down the acceleration from the ground. He did appear to posture himself correctly right before he was picked up to prevent a snapped neck.
Obviously a helo is the best way to get rescued, but this method is best for a non-accessible area and to limit exposure of the rescue craft.
I still don't know how the person actually gets into the C-130, though. The "scissors" up front grab the cord, but how does the person get in?
