Default United we stand-- in candlelight

President Bush has designated tomorrow, Friday, as a national day of prayer for our country.

Friday Night at 7:00 p.m. step out your door at home, stop your car, or step
out of your office and light a candle. We will show the world that cold
blooded mass murder cannot and will not be tolerated by the people of
America and this senseless act will not divide or defeat us, but rather make
us stronger and prove what we are made of.

Please pass this to everyone on your e-mail list. We need to reach
everyone across the United States quickly.

The message: WE STAND UNITED - WE WILL NOT TOLERATE TERRORISM.
We need press to cover this event--we need the world to see this and make
our presence and resolve known!

I got this in an e-mail from a friend.

Why don't we also change our avatars to american flags on this day. Maybe cthree can find a good avatar and make it available to those who want to participate.

I'm guessing whatever time zone you live in.

I hope that we can also start to think about forgiveness. Osama bin Laden is a hate monger and wants us to be angry. By continuing this chain of anger and hatred, we continue his atrocious work. I realize that the military will have to take steps to ensure that this doesn't happen again, but we achieve nothing by answering hate and anger with the same.

He stated, word for word, that he wants us to "feel pain." While our feeling pain is inevitable, most religions promote forgiveness even in the most horrible situations.

He's a terrorist. Hate is his game of choice, so I advocate both not letting him win and taking a Christian approach of forgiveness. The most horrible punishment I can imagine for him would be for him to realize the error of his ways and to have to live with himself while facing for punishment the millions of people he has affected.

Sondra:
I can think of far more appropriate punishments for him
