John, I'm not disagreeing with you, by any means, but hate isn't healthy for anyone and flies in the face of what I, as a Christian and American, have been taught.

I don't wish anything good on the people responsible for this. While I think that the real punishment for anything like this is ultimately from God, I also know that as a civilian, I can't do anything but support my government's choices for retaliation and hope that the only ones who have to suffer for it are the intended targets. In spite of the video that a lot of us saw of smiling, cheering Palestinians, I believe that most of the world grieves with us and don't wish to see more people die to make it all stop.

Why don't we also change our avatars to american flags on this day. Maybe cthree can find a good avatar and make it available to those who want to participate.

I agree and do not want to see innocent people hurt or killed. But the U.S. needs to step up
to the plate on this. Unfortunately terrorists will never be gone.
But the world needs to make it known that we won

Tried to add the flag and was told by the system that the file was too big.

But I'm going to a meeting of about 50 people tonight and I'm taking candles for everyone, so at 7 we'll be standing outside the hall with our candles lit!

The only candle I'd like to light is the one under bin Laden's ass! if that's not PC, I'm sorry.

Last night at the S2000 happy hour here in Austin, we held our gathering at a dive bar/restaurant by the lake. At 7pm, we shared our candles with the band, who stopped played and asked for a moment of silence to remember those who perished in the crashes and to ask for peace. The entire bar stopped what they were doing, and you could have heard a pin drop.

I expected that they would play a patriotic song to end the moment, but the band commenced playing "Imagine" by John Lennon. The crowd was still silent throught the song; I don't think a better song could have been more thought provoking at that very moment.

It was a beautiful silent moment in many parts of the country yesterday, but the most touching stories are that most of the world took time out yesterday to grieve with us.

As we greive, I am glad to see that we are also preparing a response to this incident. While I do not like to respond to mass killing by doing the same, I do endorse our efforts to erradicate OBL and the like from the earth and realise that war will be the likely method.

I am even more saddened that these animals who did this have successfully brought many of us to thinking at their level. While my morals and ethics say it is wrong, my emotions and instincs say lets go in and kill the bastards guilty of planning this and damn the consequences...we'll deal with them as they come.

I am flying my flag every day and putting small flags out front for all to see and will do for the for seeable future.

Last night my entire neighborhood had candles lit and we were all outside. It was great to see such a response.

God bless America.

My group of 50 or so came out of the meeting and formed a big circle (sort of) on the lawn in front of the PB Rec Center. A minute of silent prayer and saying the Serenity Pray (God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference), then back into our meeting. An inspiring moment to us and passers-by.
