Update on a VW dealership rant lawsuit
Sorry, I know this is a repost, but I couldn't find the old thread anymore. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=52126
I just read this story in theregister.co.uk. http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/22973.html The final update is that Dealeship is going to settle the lawsuit.
I am going to follow the lawsuit now and see wher it is heading. I hope it is being settled. Otherwise, there will be a lot of lawsuit like this one. Can't believe a retail business is sueing the customer. What kind of world do we live in?

I can, when you consider the source of the suit. If an individual is displeased with the service of a dealership then they need to take it to another one. But also the dealership should be held accountable for their actions. Obviously the dealership is worried about it's image to the public. My question is why this way. Filing suit against and individual for maliscious vocalization is questionable to say the least. My question to them would be why are you so worried about your reputation. Their actions in all cases should speak for them. Not one of personal revenge against a customer. This tells me that they have something to hide and surely sends a message to all their customers that in all cases they are wrong not the dealership. This in itself is enough to hurt their business. Would you take your vehicle to a dealership that would file a falsely based suit against a customer, especially you being the customer? I know I wouldn't!! I'd avoid them like the plague. That's just human nature, when trouble arrises you avoid it not step head long into it.
I can't believe that a corperate lawyer would advise a dealership to do such a thing. Stupid thing here is they may just win a small battle but lose far more customers in the process. Oh well, and this is comming from a common mans view point.
Cheers
Jeff

It would be interesting to see what the settlement is going to be. This dealership has already gotten a ton of bad press. Just a dumb move on their part. Woudn't be surprised if they went out of business.
