I really like XP. I've been using it for 3 years and it's crashed only once on me. I've never had any compatibility problems with any hardware.

Win2K and XP are nearly identicle btw, so if you have problems with one you're probably going to have the same problems with the other. They're built on exactly the same core.

So I recommend 2k or xp, I don't think it makes a difference which you pick. They're both good.

I think XP is great and very simple to use...the other Windows systems are also very good too. I just like to be up to date.

I definetely like WindowsXP Pro (compared to other Wwindows versions). I've been using it since that week it was released and it's been the most stable Windows platform I've used. This computer that I'm typing this message on has WindowsXP Pro and has been up 24/7 for the past 29 days, 2 hours, 54 minutes . I use it regularly (opening all of my regualar programs) and it has never crashed (at least not to the point where it requires a reboot).

It also great with compatibility issues since it's able to mimic older Windows versions. It's been the most stable Microsoft platform I've dealt with and is installed on all my computers.

I would say go for it...plus if you have new computer components, they usually work better with the most recent version of windows (take the ATI 9700Pro video card).

XP Pro

that computer has also been running the cancer project (check previous signature) for those 29 days. It's never been bogged down or restarted.

XP Pro is the best OS I've ever used, not a single issue, but my application doesn't include wireless. Win 2KP is the most stable Windows OS, but I wouln't go back if I were paid to.

Had several problems with XP - went back to Win2K.
It seems to be good if you're a novice, a pain in the ass if you're a techie.

Thanks for all the input. I've added a drive to my machine and
I'm going to put XP on there and see how it goes. In the worst
case, I can still boot to my existing Win 2k drive.

Thanks again

xp pro is pretty much a beafed up 2k pro. I'm a A+ Mcp 2k pro and I absolutly love windows xp pro, just for the reason that it makes networking so easy! It's a lil bright and bubbly. so I pretty much made it look like 2k pro. unless you are running old hardware or running old games Xp is the way to go!

XP is nowhere near stable enough or fast enough for my liking. I wouldn't move from Win 2000 Pro (especially when it comes to networking).
