No offense intended to those of you who have some involvement with the company, but it is my opinion that UPS generally blows.

I have a brand new $3000 telescope in their hands that I had planned to use this weekend, being a holiday weekend and all. My package left Oklahoma City on the afternoon of the 26th, and arrived in their "North Bay Hub" at 3:09 pm yesterday. Now... I don't know exactly where that is, but it's probably no more than a half hour north of the city. They sort it, throw it on a truck, sort it again at a smaller hub, throw it on a smaller truck, and deliver it, right?

There hasn't been any scan activity on it since, and the tracking website indicated scheduled delivery on Tuesday.

So why is it that my package won't be delivered until Tuesday? They -guarantee- delivery by Tuesday, but boy, it'd be nice if they didn't just leave my package sitting in the warehouse an extra day, simply because they -can-. Why should it have to take 2.5 days for a package to make its way from the north bay to the south bay?

Arrrrrgh. Does anyone know if you can go pick up your own damn package at one of the UPS warehouses?

I think you can pick it up if you have ID and the tracking number. Call them first.
