Default Ur exp with paypal and getting beat?

Long story short -

was dealing with someone for a purchase - paid under $400 for something. guy deletes hotmail mailbox somehow and i have no other ways of finding him.

he invoiced me and i paid through paypal.

called paypal today, they said file a claim and they will get the money back if he doesnt ship or respond in 7 days.

ive dealt with situation like this through ebay and did get my money back. my question to u guys is - lets say he just closed his paypal account and bank account and whatever (in an attempt to scam me). Will paypal still get me my money?

I am pretty sure paypal has there ways of getting there money back from those who think they can scam through paypal. Just wondeirng if any of you had expierence with this...

Paypal doesn't really care about you, only transactions it can skim for profit. Its certainly not going to give you money.

FYI - actually just got off the phone with investigative department- the money will be back in my possession in 11 days. they explained the whole process and how they get there money. i questioned them on the "well if he closes the account and u have no money to pull from - why would you give me your money and where do you pulll it from?" they had an answer.

i recall something like this happening to me when i was kid - but i was the one doing the scamming. it wasnt a SCAM per say, it was that i forgot to send someone there product and never noticed till like 4 months later.

they did get there money back and i was stuck paying that "lean" off. as identity and bank account relations are per the individual. u cant really escape paypal if you want to use them on a constant basis.

LOL. it wasnt a scam, it was simply confusion and I stopped using ebay for a time period.

but the point is that they can get there money even if you stop using the service or if you close the account.

heres how its going to to. I got a ipod off craigslist, put it on ebay and sold it. I only got on ebay if I was selling somthing so I never realized someone had a claim against me. Basicly the ipod ended up being stolen. The person I sold it to shipped it to the orignal owner and then paypal paid them $160 out of thier pocket to refund them on it and they sent me a letter in the mail saying that if I didn't pay paypal $160 The would turn in it into a collections agency. So I had to pay paypal back.

you'll get your money and paypal will find a way to get thiers.

lession learned.. don't buy ipods off craigslist.
