Doubt all you want, but all it just shows is that you are in fact, from Florida.

My gosh this statement is so true. I don't know, maybe it's something in the water down here that makes everybody so damn paranoid.

It's the heat.

Smart move, absolutely no good can come of it.
I agree. How would we feel if someone posted a picture of one of our fallen soldiers or if something happened to our President and someone posted a picture of that? How did we feel when video was posted of prisoners being decapitated? It's disrespectful, vulgar and serves no positive purpose. We should strive to be above that as a civilized nation.

And honestly, who here is enough of an expert on bin Laden to determine if a picture of a guy with an exploded head is the real bin Laden? I'd say no one. Who here is enough of an expert to be able to look at a photograph and determine if he was killed last weekend or 10 years ago? I'd say no one. Anyone who is going to cry foul is still going to cry foul after a photograph is released. They're conspiracy theorists, they don't trust the government, they hate Obama, or whatever.

Just like the "birthers"... Obama provided an official document showing that he was born in Hawaii, but they still continued to try to disparage him and even that document wasn't enough to get them to shut up. Does anyone really think that showing a pic of a guy with his head blown off is going to shut up the people claiming that bin Laden isn't dead (or at least wasn't killed in last weekend's raid)? I'd wager against that.
I remember pictures of daniel pearl, before and after the muslims cut his head off

Chef I'm not sure if you're allowed to post links to that kind of content. Just a heads up...

Also when you say "Well al-Qaeda got to do this..." you either:

1) Hold their standards in high regard, and wish for us to reach that level
or
2) Would like us to drop our principles and stoop down to their level

Your choice..

His daughter watched our men blow his brains out. The arab world knows he's dead. He's dead. The world including us, isn't staging the death of what is (or was) probably the most evilly capable person on this planet. Doubt all you want, but all it just shows is that you are in fact, from Florida. Pakistan wouldn't be trying so hard to eliminate the heat they're getting for having him a half hour from the capital, in a regular house, inviting people over for religious dinners if it wasn't infact such an embarrassing display of intelligence failure.

"Osama Bin Laden isn't dead until Donald Trump sees his death certificate. #Deathers"

yup... he's gone, that's all that is important, there are dopes that will need proof but who cares, the guy that killed thousands on 9/11 is gone, dead, killed in fron of his family and chucked in the ocean. Sorry don't kill americans going about thier business.

I agree that posting the picture isn't really called for, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. I think that this argument is way off base though, this isn't a soldier defending his country or a political figure. He was a terrorist (and not someone that only America saw as one, but the entire world - excluding his followers.) I didn't see any big uproar when videos of Saddam's hanging were posted, despite him being a political leader.

^Not really comparable. Those videos of Saddam were NOT released by the U.S.

In fact, they weren't supposed to be released at all... it was all cell phone camera footage and I believe they were trying to search people on the way in to prevent that from happening. Either way, not our problem. Iraqi gov was in charge at that point. In this case, it's our call and I think we're making the right one.

That's exactly my point. Is that the type of people we want to be? Is that the type of image we want to portray? As CU at 9K said, just because the terrorists did it, that doesn't make it OK. They also attacked non-military buildings killing 3000 innocent civilians... do you think that's OK to do, too?

We are not terrorists. We should not behave like terrorists.
