Because they are OUR country men fighting for freedom, unlike the rest of the world.

Take a look around the "rest of the world" Gink, and you'll see that others are fighting too, the world is more than America you know

I did forget the British, and i am sorry. They are playing a big role, but for the most part, the rest of the world doesn't come close to the particapation of the U.S.

I basically just get upset when people put down our soldiers, the men and women that defend their rights and freedom. The sad thing is most of those same people were the ones whos asses were saved in WWII.(french, germans cough cough)

Because war is great.

It means more weapons and fighter jet sales for Boeing, future weapons development, and more oil for America.

I guess everyone missed the video feed on abc months ago where an Apache literally evaporated five men without ever being fired on. Damn it's so cool to see people blow up.

I just love the "woohoos" and "aw damn". Typical jock, frat boy, douchebag personality of **edit** many, but not all, of our soldiers.

I remember seeing a video of American soldiers about a week ago and one of the soldiers was asked how he feels about the tense situation in Iraq and the continous circle of violence...

His response...
"I think it's fun!"

I have a strong feeling if an IQ test was performed on these soldiers, they would be ranked one notch below that of a child who just graduated kindergarten.
You don't have to be stupid to enjoy adrenaline rushes, excitement, combat, or what have you. I'm pretty sure the soldier who said that wasn't commenting on the bigger picture, just the combat they've been seeing as a result.

I'll say though, you have to have a certain level of stupidity to make a comment like you did.

Completely ignoring that last remark.....

Anywho.......

AquilaEagle, I don't think that slight was intentional, and I must say whenever this topic comes up among my friends, it is pretty well understood, though not always mentioned outright what a debt of gratitude the US owes the UK. I had heard a political commentator say that countries do not have friends, they have interests. And while I believe the UK and the US have many common interests, it also seems that the US has a friend in the UK (and other nations like Australia). Tony Blair has taken some heat but the guy has some serious gonads and I have great respect for his political courage, it is far easier to run from a fight. I truly believe if something ever happened where the UK needed our help the US would be there to lend a hand.

PS>>>>>>France on the other hand is NOT in any way shape or form a friend to the US. And the germans are the Chiracs biggest brownnoser. It is one thing to tell a friend you disagree with them and cannot stand with them, it is another to try to sabatoge everthing they do and badmouth them at every chance and send weapons to their enemy. I won't buy michelin's, I passed on the 350z (nissan is partly owned by Renault) and french wine, because I would rather eat dog crap then send a nickel of my cash to the french.

Vader, judging by your long post, you were writing it out for sometime, so I'm assuming you're meaning to ignore the post by S2000_rider, and not my little post that took about 10 seconds to post?

You roll your eyes, that's cool, but arguments go much easier when you express how you feel with words.

Am I wrong in what I said? What about a fighter pilot? I'm sure they have a blast up in the sky, flying their missions, dropping their ordinance. Is it wrong for them to say they're having fun with it too? The only difference is the manner in which they're having fun. To discredit a group of soldiers because of ones comment about having fun just shows density on your part.

Or was there something else in this video that would cause you to think the way you did? I don't believe I've seen the one you're talking about.
