USPS tracking sucks.

Shipped out $1000 item as gift as buyer asked to avoid custom fees.
Tracking doesnt work after 2 months.
Buyer says he never received an item. and contact paypal.
I really had no way to prove, because i bought the label through paypal and dropped off the package at local post office.

In short, he got all his money back through paypal, paypal overdrafted money from my account, got charged extra.
About -$1100 damage.
Complete bs.

Never shipping out anything international.
I even used USPS EXPRESS to canada.

Their custom service sucks too.

Don't be hatin' on the USPS. It took me almost 5 weeks to get a part shipped the same day I ordered it from Australia via your post and their tracking wasn't any more helpful.

Never pay attention to USPS tracking.. 90% of the time it's still stuck at "Electronic Shipping Info Received" by the time the ****** thing is delivered. Your tax dollars hard at work.

That 800 phone number may not work for international calls.

When shipping internationally through USPS (United states postal service) the package or letter is provided to the national postal service of the country receiving the package, in your case Australia Post ( http://auspost.com.au/ ) USPS cannot track the package once it is in the other carriers hand.

I've had this issue when shipping items through USPS to Egypt and Greece.

Depending on the item being shipped you have to fill out customs clearance paperwork. That could be why it is being held up in Miami, although I think the exit port for your package should probably be on the west coast.

GL with mess, next time use FedEx, UPS, DHL or Aramex.

I think you will have to make an International phone call and contact USPS to track your package. Also contact Australia Post to and ask them how they handle these situations.

It's not really a tracking number but a confirmation/verification number; it doesn't track every step of the way like how UPS and FedEx do.
This.

Chances are the site wont update until after the package is delivered
