Vacation Ideas
After over 3 years of college and working almost every weekend, I am slowly losing my mind and decided I need a vacation.
Problem is that I honestly got no idea where to go. Everything I can think of that I want to do, is meaningless to do alone.
Any ideas?
Conditions:
Must be in North America.
Will most likely happen sometime this fall or in the Winter.
Can't cost more than $1000
Will be a few days to a week long
I was debating taking a road trip to the Dragon, but that is a day full of driving to and from.
I'm interested in almost anything really. Don't want to do anything focused specifically on going and getting ****ed up, however I plan to do some

A little more info about you and what you like to do would be helpful in giving you suggestions.
You go go snowmobiling in Yellowstone to Hiking Cadillac mountain in Acadia National park Maine to fishing off the florida keys. What do you like to do?

This may sound odd, but go to the "Happiest Place on Earth"
Disneyworld, not Disneyland.
Immerse yourself into the Disney culture and experience and you'll definitely forget your worries. Disney is not just about the rides as all the other amusement parks are. If you will just slow down and look around you then you'll get surprised around just about every corner. They go to extreme links to divorce you from the real world.
It is amazing the single women there and the night life they've got there.
Definitely stay "on property" as they say and stay close to Disney and Epcot not out near the studios. It's amazing how much you lose when you stay off property or out near the studios.
Then just take your time and enjoy. Don't rush or worry that you won't hit it all, but there are 4 parks there and a plethora of other entertainment opportunities on property. Remember that it's not all about the rides and enjoy the the subtle nuances. Did you know there's a statue of Snow White near the merry go round at Disneyworld that at night throws a shadow not of Snow White but of the Wicked witch?

I'm into a ton of things really.
Disneyland/world would be awesome, but I honestly dont think I would enjoy it all that much. Disney was never really this "thing" to me that it is to many others so to me, it is just a huge amusement park.
Caribbean immediately sprung into my head, but I want to save that for a time when I can stay for longer than a week.
Vegas is definitely on the list.
Places I was personally debating:
Chicago: Sears tower, pier, museums, etc
Dragon: (Although I'd rather not drive half the vacation)
Branson: Silver Dollar city, shows, etc
Colorado: the mountains, hiking(maybe), some mountain roads, helicopter flight through the mountains, etc
Vegas" duh
Great ideas everyone!

You don't need to be "into Disney" to enjoy Disneyworld and it's not just an amusement park. If that's what you think of Disneyworld then you've missed the real Disney-especially when you stay on site and partake of all the things they have to offer.
Been to their version of Cirque de Soleil?
How about Pleasure Island? The Adventurer's club is great plus there are any number of regular clubs, comedy shows, etc. All for one price you get to see them all.
Disney is a place you can go by yourself and never be alone. I love the Caribbean and dive every chance I get, but you need to go there with a friend. Most places you need a friend to get the most out of them.
My son lived in Fla for 4 years and constantly went to Disney. He said he always had fun. He started out alone but always ended up in a group before the day was over. And he always left with a girl or at least a date for later.

Go camping at the Grand Canyon. Sign up for a couple tours and you'll spend part of each day with a group of people but have plenty of time for hiking and sight-seeing.
Or go to a ski resort like Vail or Aspen or Jackson Hole or something. If you don't ski or snowboard, take lessons. Try a place with a real nightlife so you aren't bored once the sun goes down. You don't have to be Mr. Party to enjoy yourself at a ski town bar.
