Brown's may be a New York thing, not sure, but they make some great sodas. 
Not for everybody, but Brown's Cel-Ray is wonderful and unique, as far as I know. Their dark berry sodas are tops too.
Also, as cream sodas go, I like I.B.C.. I'm not sure where they comes from, but they make root beer too. Oddly enough, I love cream soda, but I can't stand root beer. I realize they're very similar, but root beer makes me gag.
