OK, I'm finally going to Vegas.

The gf has booked a trip for this weekend to celebrate the big 3.0. for me.

What do I need to do, where do I need to go.

Coming in at 10:00 Friday night and leaving at midnight on Sunday night (red-eye back to Chi-town for work on Monday).

Help me out folks.

(sorry, never been to Vegas, but the Red Eye for work after a weekend in Vegas frightens me)

Which hotel do you plan on staying in? When I was there a while back, I really loved Luxor...very unique place. As for the sights...well I don't know anything about that.

I was just there a couple of weekends ago, and my gf took me for my "big 2-6". <---THe thought here is that I am now officially closer to the age of 30 than the age of 20.

If you are doing the "hotel tour", the must see hotels are The Bellagio, Caesar's, MGM, NewYork NewYork, and definitely the Luxor.

If you are going to go do the shows, Blue Man Group at the Luxor was awesome as was the Cirque du Soleil "Mysterie" at Treasure Island or the Mirage. The Cirque du Soleil show "oh" was playing at the Bellagio and heard that was also very good.

Slots and Blackjack tables were best at the Stardust. Roulette was awesome over at The Bellagio.

Food was very good everywhere....some of my tasty's were had at Tony Roma's at the Stardust, PF Changs next to the Coke Store, New York New York's street vendors, and a Tex Mex restaurant also at NY NY.

Need any more info?

Oh yeah, Brad, take a pair of comfortable pair of gym shoes.

The only nightclub we got a chance to go to was Studio 54 at the MGM.....don't go with your gf!!! It is a hangout for porn stars....seriously. My gf just told me to go ahead and look as long as I brought my appetite home with me .

I go to Vegas every year,I'm probably leaving next week.
ALright things to do,
Gamble ofcourse!
check out the Luxor, it's like walking in to egypt!
also right next door is exclaibur, not the greatest but from the outside it is awsome.
I think New York, New York has one of the best casinos
Take a spin down to Freemont street and check out the big light show. The whole street is covered with a big canopy and it is pretty amazing...Warning!!! don't go too far off the path here, can be pretty rough.
If you like Star Trek, there is an awsome exhibit, at a hotel, can't remember the name but it's at or near the big spaceneedle thing. You get to actually stand on the bridge of the enterprise!!!! Trust me its well worth it.
If your looking to save some cash, go down the strip a bit, South ( believe ) from the big MGM, and such and you can play 2 dollar black jack all day. Doubleing down on 16 is a hoot!
Other then that bring a camera! There is just wayyyy to much to look at.
And if time permits, a trip to the Hoover damn, is alot of fun too. That thing is HUGE!!!

Visit the Bellagio (sp?). The buffet there is awesome. Also, you and your g/f might enjoy the watershow outside the hotel at night. I think it shows every 15 minutes, not sure on that.

I also liked RIO's lunch buffet.

As for gambling, I liked the layout of New York, New York and also liked Paris. I didn't like the fact that I lost $300 dollars there though.

Hope that helps alittle...

Mysterie is at Treasure Island and worth the money. Bellagio is where I stayed last, I recommend it. Weather permitting (I'm sure it will be fine) take a walk at night down the strip with your girl, you can see the water show (Bellagio), pirate show (treasure island), volcano eruption (Mirage?). When you check in ask for a coupon book (most hotels have them) you can get free meals in most casino/hotels you stay at. Studio 54 is fun for, ummm sight seeing, as Luder94 stated. Gamble in the morning but try and see some of the shows at night you won't regret it.

For accomodations, I would recommend the Venetian or Bellagio. I go to Vegas once or twice a year. Last year I stayed at the Venetian. It was nice. They have a little canal you can ride on that takes you through the shops(kinda lame, but gfs love it). And, I saw Steven Segal in the casino. I would have kicked his ass, but he's about 6'6" and had four body gaurds. Try to see everything that you can. Gambling is fun, but those billion dollar hotels weren't built on winners. See some shows. BMG is very entertaining, but I think Cirque de Soleil is more impressive. Enjoy your trip!
