<begin vent>

No second chances whether they're a 16 year old first time offender or not. Jail time is what they deserve with no exceptions. Set an example of these people once and for all.

And no, I haven't got a virus nor have I ever had one but I sometimes receive half a dozen a day as email attachments. It's gotten beyond a joke and serious action needs to be taken.

Um, if you keep up on MS patches, and use anti-virus software - updated regularly - it ain't no big deal. I'm all for imprisoning the ignorant SOBs who propagate the things, then plead ignorance. That's like getting HIV, then ing half the town, and claiming "you didn't know." Use protection, or go downtown. Ignorance is not an option.

I agree too. Even worse is all the damn spyware and intrusive tracking/advertising software out there. I think I killed my home computer last weekend. I managed to get a toolbar installed in my web browser and started getting pop ups. I used Spybot to get rid of it all, but the whole computer freezes up as soon as I boot up now. Who the hell comes up with all this spyware/popup crap anyway???

It has gotten out of control I agree, Along with virus software I have been running Ad-Aware 6.0 a free cleaner from ad-aware.com , My brother is a web designer and he told me about it and last week I cleaned 956 objects that either tracked me or items that allowed hackers access.

I don't know how these things work but my anti-virus software cant find them or isn't looking for them! I was having trouble with my Internet Explorer and after the scan and cleaning it works perfectly! Highly reccomended

I installed the google toolbar the other day... it helps to block popups, and allows you to accept popups on certain sites. Hopefully this helps.
