Well, I 'd say thats a little extreme, perhaps.

Yeah they are ex commies (or they are still commies depending on how you look at it) and Marx and Engels had spreading communism worldwide as part of the manifesto, but nukes make things a whole different ballgame.

Do the Russians want to dominate the world? Yeah probably. Do the Chinese? Yeah probably. The Iranians? Yeah probably. I could go on.

But once you got nukes, and we have thousands, you can't take them all out. Mutually assured destruction is kind of messed up, but it is one heck of a deterrent.

Right now the whole fight is over energy. Without energy resources you have no power. Once somebody solves that problem scientifically there will be a lot less to fight over. Take the guy making diesel from bacteria poop. If he can get that to work large scale, Russia would have no power to shut off the tap. The middle east would become irrelevant over night.

Call me a green weenie nutcase, but true renewable energy that is plentiful will do more for world security than anything in history.

Call me old-fashioned, but websites that rely on visions by people like the "Seer of Vorarlberg" in 1922, or Josef Naar, called"Fuhrmannl" in 1691, just don't strike me as credible evidence of a current plot for Russian hegemony. I think that you are showing just a tad too much white around your irises, GPMike.

The useful idiot, backing away slowly so as not to provoke too strong a reaction,

We will probably always have something to fight over, whether its energy, oil, money, women, power... we are not mature enough to completely end conflicts.

Thats like a person who goes to the gym having a goal and reaching it.

We require, as humans, a never-ending supply of muscle flexing to our peers and its perfectly represented through our governments.

I'm about to make conflict because I think the U.S. flag should be in Scandinavia.

I smell a civil war coming.

Well, to try to get this discussion of where the hot babes are back on topic, let me remind people here of the lyrics to the Beatles' song "Back in the USSR"

Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
They leave the west behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
And Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind
