Default Watches...

It's an old 18K Tourneau that I'm trying to find a name for. I'd like to know if it's worth any money before I decide whether I want to spend a few bucks to make it work again. Sorry for the crappy photos, I've seen camera phones take better pictures then this thing. It'll be tough without some good photos, but I can't find them anywhere on the net.

On the back, the numbers 187268 are engraved.

Haha the camera is just that bad. I think it might be the first digital camera ever made.

Press the little button that looks like a flower, it's macro, and will clear the images up a LOT.

Sadly, they were on the Macro setting. :-(.

Nice, any idea what kind of movement it has and how long it's been dead?

I found it!

This is the watch make and model - very desirable piece!

I'd think it would be worthwhile. Torneau is basically a "house brand," but they aren't necessarily cheap. If it is automatic or mechanical, I'd say it could be worthwhile, but if it is quartz, you might as well throw it away. I wouldn't spend $500 getting it working, but $200 or so would be worthwhile, IMHO.

OT: you've got the camera way too close to the watch, it looks like.

It's probably not worth much. Tourneau watches are usually not collectible.

It's hard to tell much from the pics, but if it's a nice watch and means something to you it might be worth fixing.

If you take a look on www.timezone.com you can find a reputable watchmaker in your area. You could also ask this quaestion on the public forum over there. Don't post those pics though, you'll just get flamed, as no one can tell anything by looking at them.

A watchmaker will be able to tell you what movement is in there and whether it's worth repairing it. It's possible that it just needs a cleaning. I'd say you're looking at $250+, at least where I live.
