Default A way to get out of cell phone contract

Cell phone contracts are really lame. I want to get out of my Verizon contract. Is there an easy way besides taking the early termination fee?

I am on Verizon with unlimited 4g LTE data, I can give away a free phone: Samsung Droid Charge

As far as I know they only way to get out is if you have no service at your address.

You know... Some people would give away their kid to get an unlimited data plan on Verizon.

Any time a cell provider makes changes to their services and/or amendments to their service contracts, it gives you an out with no ETF. They are changing something after you agreed to it so they legally have to let you exit the contract after that. You typically have 30 days from any change.

Slickdeals.net usually tracks that kind of stuff and they make posts about it because people either 1) want out of a contract 2) want to use the out as a reason to try and get hand-outs from the retentions departments (i.e. you changed my contract so I'm going to cancel my service unless you give me X)

or if they changed contract terms which lets you out anyway. I ended up getting a $75 credit for "no reason" due to retensions after a contract change.
