At 7:45 this morning I was Westbound on the 91 between Weir Canyon and Imperial when I saw a car stopped in the carpool lanes. It was on the shoulder, hood open, with the driver peering into the engine compartment. It was a dark red--almost maroon--convertible with the top down.

Not remarkable, you say?

Oh, did I mention that it was a Ferrari Daytona Spyder?

What a great car!

I hope its ailment isn't serious.

I hear you guys knockin', but you can't come in...I'll take a broken-down Ferrari over a runnin' S2K any day.

But that's just me.

Yesterday the wife was on her way back from taking the dog to rehab-torn meniscus-and called me from her cell, "Nick I think I saw a yellow Ferrari park in front of a store up the road. I will hurry home so we can go look at it."

We stop for gas on the way to the Ferrari and as we are waiting for the tank to fill a yellow 360 Spyder rumbles by. The original Ferrari is still about a block away. We pull in front of the strip mall and there parked between two hoopties is a yellow 360 coupe. The car looked like it was tracked as it seemed to have quite a few rock chips. I could see the Recarro seats and harness through the window. It was shod in a set of BBS CH wheels with red lettering.

All-in-all it turned out to be a rather nice Ferrari sighting.

Several years ago my wife told me that the first year I earned $250,000 I could go get a Daytona. These days I'd rather get a Maranello, although I'll have to refigure the earnings threshhold because of inflation.

On the other hand, once I get the new internet business off the ground (in a couple of weeks, I hope), those days may be nearer than you think.

Here's hoping!

Hey, that's cool. I am a few weeks away from opening my new business; Detailers Paradise. We will be an internet retailer and a brick and morter. I just closed on the initial funding. Good luck to you!
