I need to get an 128-bit web site cert for a Unix web server. I've looked at VeriSign, Tucows, Thwate. Any recomendations and why?

We use certs from verisign. Don't know exactly why, but probabaly because they are considered the industry "de facto" cert.

90% of our boxes are Solaris. The others are NT. We use the verisign certs on both.

Thawte was cheaper..

They have been bought by Verisign.

After the Microsoft fiasco a few months ago I don't put too much stock in Versign.

Feel free to ask more questions

I heard about that. And I see that Thwate is $500+ cheaper. Any experiences?

Thawte works well for me. It depends what you need a certificate for. CAs are mostly weak on the policy/procedure side. Verisign got nailed, Thawte had no problems.

Trust me if you are worrying about security a certificate is the LAST THING you need to worry about.
