Wedding Registry
Overview: My website(s) graphic designer, who has also been a good friend of mine for a long time now, asked me to be in his wedding.
As of right now, I've spent $50 for my seat in the limo (14 ppl), $125 for the tux rental, and another $50 for the hotel for the night of the rehearsal dinner.
Not that I want to be cheap about the gift, but what is a fair/reasonable gift amount?
Wedding is Saturday...need to purchase ASAP.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I think generally the rule is you should at least cover the cost of your plate at dinner. Depending on the venue, whether there's an open bar, etc., this will fluctuate.
Only question....how do I find out without directly asking him? lol

Give at least $100.
I usually do $200 and if it's a friend, $300-500, for me and my date.
save $ on the limo, hotel, and tux rental and use that toward the gift.

I always find something on their registry (or a couple of items) that are within my budget for the event. Evaluate how much you are willing to spend on them and get something on their registry.
They picked those items to make things simple and effective for everybody. They dont get 7 toasters and you can pick something with a $$ amount you are comfortable with. Easy, pleasy, japanesey

Depends on my financial situation at the time, and how close I am to the person. If it was a distant cousin, I'd be looking to spend about $20. If it was a friend that I see every 3-6 months, maybe $50-100. If it was a lifelong friend, I might spend $100-250. I'm not a baller like S2020, though.

You might have missed this part
if not, that's money spent on yourself, not the gift. Cut the spending on yourself and use that $ toward gift.
