Funny, I just woke up and am sore as a sonofabitch. The former Mr. Universe or Olymipa dude who it the trainer put me through a full body workout so I am full body sore. Really sore.
^ ha ha....

question: to stay in shape (in the general sense), is there a *SPECIFIC* way that you should burn energy? i.e. is cardio better than weights? is yoga better than cardio? and so on...
i play hockey twice a week and that's it....no other exercise.

S2000raj, work out hard again today, then you'll know the true mean of sore
. To help you out, try streching before and after your workout, then for the last meal of your day eat a good proteion rich meal. That'll help you not be so sore the next day (although the first couple of weeks suck no matter what you eat, so be prepaired for more sore mornings)
I've heard that doing some very light weights (or bodyweight movements) the following day (for the affected muscle group) can help reduce pain and fatigue too... perhaps do to the increased blood flow to the area. Can't say I've ever tried it though.
For most people, An all out workout like that will cause more pain and will delay progress. The body was shocked but at the point where most people will need a few days to recover. Breaking up your workout is the most effective way to be active daily. Consistency is the key.
Unless of course you're genetically enhanced. Or are on anabolic steroids.
Either way good luck.
