I've had plenty of weird people at work, but for the most part they're harmless and I don't have to see them or talk to them.

But what drives me crazy is people in cubes around me with really annoying voices or laughs. Worst of all is the guy who constantly does his "yuk yuk yuk" laugh which in essence is a white-guy Eddie Murphy laugh.
I had one of those at work... it took me a couple of days to figure out that that was really his laugh and that he wasn't just faking it.. I never knew people REALLY laughed like that.... annoying

Weird people at work -

I have people who take big stinky nasty shits and can't figure out how to turn the fan on or spray something. One guy even advertises he is on his way to take a shit but carrying the newspaper with him, or stopping in offices asking for something to read.
That is hilarious. I thought courtesy flushes were mandatory in publicly used restrooms????If not, they should be. Hell... if they are really bad at the home base shitter I even give a courtesy flush.

I got a good one (or two). We have this one guy at work who is very strange. He spent three weeks playing chess with himself and doing no other work. he also leans on the automatic flush thing when he uses the urnal and he never washes his hands in the bathroom. He will come in and drop a serious number 2 and just walk out. WTF? He also talks to himself constantly.

There is a wierd person at every workplace. If you don't have one, probably means that you're it.

The wierdest guy I ever worked with was actually a good friend. He was not wierd in a creepy way, he just had OCD. Before he could leave his office he had to turn his light switch on and off three times. If you went out to lunch he had to look under all the plates before leaving just in case someone might leave something under one. If he saw items laying on a table or desk he had to stack them. And every time he got out of his car he had to lock it with the key fob, pull on all four door handles to make sure they were locked, pull on the trunk and hood and try to sneak his fingers through the top of each window like it was rolled down an inch even though you could see that all the windows were closed.

My favorite was he was one of those guys who liked to come in every morning and make a list of the things he needed to get done each day and the first item on it was always "Make List".

Other than that he was a smart, funny guy and great to hang out with. (Howard Stern and Howie Mandel are OCD by the way). He never wanted to go get any medication for it because he thought he was fine and the quirks did not bother him. Every girl he dated, and he did very well, thought it was cute. For all you Bush haters you'll be glad to know he is now employed in DC by the Bush administration.

I worked with a guy a while back that did the leaving the car ritual. In addition to checking the handles, he'd also press his thumb on various places on the car. There were 4 or 5 places with paint completely rubbed off to the bare metal. He'd also walk out about 20ft behind the car and pace parrallel to the car for a minute or so, never taking his eyes off it.

have you guys ever heard that Dane Cook bit about the guy that everyone has at work that is "SHAPES." haha... i hope there's some Dane-Train fans on here.

anywho, this is the official "Weird Person at My Work" thread.

the weird guy at my work has black velcro orthopedic shoes. he went on vacation one week and i had to cover his desk. which meant sitting at his work station every now and then to answer e-mails and check his faxes. this guy has a post-it note "matrix" above his desk with cryptic little reminders to: "line trash parallell to file," "black pens, blue pens, red pens, felt tip pens," "hang up headset," "ads on hold," "staples?" etc... this one time he came to MY desk to ask me a question and i had a bottle of juice sitting there without a cap on it. the dude knocks my juice over and spills juice all over my papers and keyboard. for some reason i say "sorry" as he runs off. i'm assuming he's running off to get paper towels but he comes back with ONE paper towel, which he's using to wipe juice off his velcro shoes. i look at him for a second like: "where's the paper towels?" and he doesn't get it, so i get up and get paper towels. i come back and he's standing there waiting for me, still hasn't made any effort to wipe up the mess he's just made at my desk and then he has the nerve to say "that's exactly why it's company policy to have caps on beverages at all times, especially at work stations." the guy never once apologizes and i still have wrinkly purple papers and my keyboard is still sticky in certain places.

this other time i was faxing some stuff out to a couple different clients. i had just gotten done with the first when Velcro Shoes comes along all frantic and says "can i get in here!? i need to get in here..." being the nice girl i am i let him get ahead of me assuming he just has to make one copy real quick or something. he ends up spending at least 5 minutes ****ing around with the fax machine doing whatever while i stand behind him in disbelief with my ONE fax. i ended up walking to another department to use their fax machine and when i come back he's still making photocopies of his Magic the Gathering Convention flyer, or whatever the **** he was doing... the guy drives me up the wall.
PLEASE post a pic of this guy.. or his work area!!!!!!! hahaha

I work as a welder for a pretty good sized manufacturing company. Most of the people seem pretty normal except for a couple of them.

If I'm walking through the factory, I am usually looking ahead of me and if I am walking towards someone, I usually try to make eye contact to exchange pleasantries. Now, these people see me coming and as soon as I get into a close proximity, they turn their head and look up or down or somewhere other than my direction.

Now this may not sound like that big of deal, but to me, it's just wierd.

my company let go a hard to get along with group lead. he was old, very odd, nasty. the person who took his place (they hired from inside) was about the same except he was young. its appears difficult to change the corporate culture.
