My dog is bigger than most coyotes, but I'm sure if he were surrounded by a pack he'd be hosed. There are hundreds in the hills by our house. Sometimes you hear them yelping at night an it sounds like 1000 are up there.

When we take them into the backyard, we have a nasty noisemaker, like an air horn. We have hundrerds of coyotes in our hills also. After the Station Fire and their loss of habitat they have gotten bolder.
