Default What is it about times square and cars?

Yesterday I'm walking down to Penn Station and I'm going through Times Square and lo and behold, what's that I see crawling along in the middle of bumper to bumper NYC traffic? A brand new, still had temp tags, red Ferrari 360 Modena. The guy must have been insane or something. He's just drivng along, talking to his buddy in the passanger seat, as if he was driving a frickin' civic. If I did have a 360, there would be no way in hell I'd drive it on the streets of Manhattan.

But that's not all. About a month ago, right about the same spot I saw the 360 I saw a brand new M3 convertible. I know it's not a Ferrari but still I wouldn't be driving there @ that time.

And let's not forget about the stunt I saw Jaguar pull last fall where they drove their F1 car through Times Square.

That's all I have to say, I was just shocked when I saw these cars in that spot during rush hour.

Well when I lived in London, I saw a Jag XJ220 broken down right in front of Harrod's. It was funny to see a couple of guys swarm around this "supercar" with jumper cables.

Thats interesting!!! When I was heading towards Penn Station on Monday of this week I saw a new BMW M5, a silver Ferrari 360, and a BMW "M" Z3!!

I had the same exact thought. I would NEVER drive any of my own cars there!!! ....As a careen through traffic and red lights like a MAD New Yorker in my rented mini van ! ! !

I might be strange but, I love driving in that town!!! I mean, there are no rules!
Every man for himself!
Red light? No problem, it was green a minute ago!!
Pedestrians? They can jump real fast when they need to!
Right turn from the left lane? No problem! etc., etc., etc. !!

I guess it's good that I'm there only a few times a year!!

I love driving in Manhattan, What's more fun then testing your reflexes and awarness than going down one of the major streets like 5th, Broadway, Madison at rush hour. By the way it's not unusual to see exotic cars during the summer, that's pretty much the only time of the year you can drive them in Manhattan. The cars you see sitting in garages around midtown are better than an auto show at times.
