"The Saga of Pliocene Exile" series by Julian May - 4 books about humans who don't fit in to the late 21'st century's super-advanced spacegoing life travel back in time to Pliocene Earth, where they meet 2 related races of magic wielding aliens that have been exiled from their distant galaxy and are stuck on earth. :thum bup:

Edward Rice's biography of Sir Richard Francis Burton. Burton was an fairly unsavory fellow, but an interesting cat nonetheless. He was the one who translated the Kama Sutra and 1001 Arabian Nights into English. He also managed to sneak into Mecca and write one of the first western accounts of the city.

Sanchoman: good sci-fi:

Halo: The Fall of Reach - Eric Nylund - while officially a prelude of the game Halo, it reads like Starship Troopers and is quite a fun, light read

The Descent Series - Peter Telep - another series based of the Descent games, but VERY different from the games. It is a damned fun trilogy, again a fun, 2 day maximum read (I can polish off a Descent book in about 5 hours, but I read really fast)

Any Melanie Rawn book, if you like Fantasy and Sci-Fi at the same time ^__^
