The Goldenwing Saga - AUthor Unknown

Great books, really good Newtonian physics used to explain interstellar travel, plus the books are just damned good ^__^

I was just talking to someone about literature last night and discovered that I get bored with mainstream literature. The reason being that I studied Bilingual, Bicultural Issues in College and cut my teeth on Magic, mystisism and colorful works of many so called third world and female authors. Short stories being my favorites. I took Western Civ in college and had to read "Candid." Thought I was going to die of boredom.
Just finishing "Ender's Game" and starting "Art of War"
I recommend anything Steinbeck, "Grapes Of Wrath" "Of Mice and Men", "Tortilla Flats", "Cannery Row" Etc.
"The Philistine Prophecies", forgot author. Cool book!
The "Clan Of The Cave Bear" series by Jean Auel,
"House Of Sprits" by Isabele Allende.
Steven King is always good. Strange but good. His work flows well.
For short stories and a change try short stories by Kate Chopin. A feminist way before her time. "The Awakening" "The Story Of An Hour" Etc.
Good reading! Expand your world!

wantone, "God Of Small Things" was one of the saddest books I ever read. Beautifully done, but so depressing...

Right now, I'm reading "A Man In Full" by Tom Wolfe and can't put it down. I think he's awesome...the American Charles Dickens.

Great thread!

Recently unpacked a few texts I've been saving for that "I took these classes in college bookshelf" looking through an old P Chem book while thinking to self, "How the He!! did I get through this?"
