I drive a Jetta 1.8T 5-speed and have had my share of fun with it. I actually beat 2 S2000's with it (these engines make pretty damn good torque and power is found low to mid range and make 210hp and 240 tq with a computer chip and turboback exhaust) no flames folks, I really like the S2K and the engine is an example of efficiency at its best. In retrospect, know what I know now I would have gotten a newer model 240SX (S15?) and dropped a SR20DET engine in there. I actually drove one a while ago and this f*cuking rocks in terms of power and handling. My second option would have to be a GTi 24 valve VR6. Now I know you S2K owners are all a bunch of old farts but I'm sure you always had that " Damn It would be nice if I had that car " thought. Remembers folks 20 grand or less.

 

personally, there are no brand new or used "performance" car for under $20K out there that i would want. but if i was to spend $20K on another new car that i know i will enjoy, it would be the Jeep Wrangler. i'm not a big fan of 4x4's, but those things are extremely fun...especially with the top down during warm afternoons on the way to the beach...with 3 fine female friends in the passenger seats wearing nothing but their bikinis...

 

If I had $20K to spare I would definitely get a used RX-7, but then it would prob. be a 95 with a ton o miles. Or a used RSX.

 

Probably a nice used 94ish Supra.

 

I'm assuming you are meaning under 20 G's US. The Mini Cooper is 24 G's Canadian ^__^

 

Get a used Celica GT-S or RSX Type S.

 

1st question: what are you going to use it for?
2nd question: do you have 20G's or are you gonna' get a loan?
