What do I bring to college?
Less = more. In other words, keep the bare essentials. As many have already stated, you will more than likely have a small living space. I would stock up on personal hygiene products.
Off topic, but relevant to college:
Don't get too hung up on college parties. I know many who went to college and dropped out in the first year because the partying/bar scene became their priority
Going out every now and then is good and essential to you not losing your mind from school, and presents perfect opportunities to ask girls out. Just make sure it does not hinder your academic performance.
Good luck in school.

first thing that popped in my mind was condoms...but since you have to ask what you need to bring you won't be needing those...
for you? lets see...
a computer
a pen
a notebook...you might want to stock up in these
If you do decide to get out....
condoms...(maybe, but better safe than sorry)
a good weed connection....
a good smarts connection (ritalin, adderall and the like: works great for those cram sessions)
Ramen noodles...you gotta eat sometime
vitamins: put in what ramen doesn't give you
TUNA in a can...same as above
try LSD at least once...you wont regret it

Good toilet paper. The dorms were nice enough to provide sand paper.
Lots of snacks, especially if you plan on eating dorm food too. A decent pair of headphones (ath-m50's).
Don't buy a college premade pack. Pick the stuff you want and buy it. Oh yeah. Shower shoes or slippers to prevent getting weird crap warts or athletes foot.

If you are sharing your room with others then I highly, highly recommend a pair of earplugs and eye cover.
Bring some microwave foods with you, they are essential for survival unless you have extra money for dining hall food.
Whatever it is you forget to bring, you will bring next time. This is the time of your life where you will explore your life as an adult, without the supervision of your parents. The decisions you make in college are very important and some can change the rest of your life (I still remember I was offered drugs once, but of course I turned away). Stay away from drugs and don't drink too much.

Most, if not all, dormitories use XL Twin (XLT) size mattresses, so make sure the sheets you buy are XLT. You don't want to end up stuck with bedsheets that are too short and you have to sport Disney Princess ones from the bookstore until your next trip home or to Target, which might not be for some time (true story).
Also piece of advice, don't bring your S2000 to campus (at least not yet) - its STRESSFUL. I brought mine from home as I wrapped up my junior year and I was constantly worried about haterz hurting my car on or off-campus. Learn the dynamics of the campus first (are cars warmly welcomed and respected, or bikes and rideshares FTMFW?), join the local car club (if applicable, most universities have a small club), FIGURE OUT HOW TO CHEAT PARKING ENFORCEMENT
, etc.

Hey I was in the same situation like you. First year starting at a University, I stayed in a dorm and had to bring the S2000 with me. I was quite skeptical at first considering the fact that the college I went was rated top 10 most dangerous college in the US. Taking that into consideration, I paid premium for a single room suite so that I could park my car away from the "ghetto" and more concentrated part of the school. It just happen so that the dorm I picked had the campus police station directly in front of it so the parking lot was monitored 24/7. My other friend who was a year under me brought his S to school and stayed on the ghetto/cheaper side of the school. Within the first week, someone slammed his passenger side mirror in and keyed the quarter panel. I highly recommend that you find another cheaper daily if you are going to live on campus.
Some people just don't give a f@#k about other cars. People throw parties, drive home intoxicated, swipe your car without knowing and there is nothing you could do about it. Just saying from personal experience, I suggest you get another daily. I'm still in college right now lol. If anything, just bring the bare NECESSITIES. Whatever you bring in, you have to bring back out when the following summer hits and its a pain in the ass to move out. I stayed on the 3rd floor so it was a real pain moving TVs, TV stands, shelves, microwaves, and etc.
Another alternative if you MUST bring your S2000 is to rent one of those storage units nearby for a fix rate and park it in there. Drive the Civic or Kia on weekdays to school and work, pull the S2000 on the weekends for cruise. Me for example, I made a girlfriend while attending school and used her place to store my Lotus and S2000 in her garage while I daily a beat up 2001 Pontiac Grand Am lol. There are other possibilities my friend. Don't get too caught up with parties haha
