I live in southeast san deigo and I don't feel threatened, why would someone in a statistically safer area or state? maybe it's because in Texas etc. everyone else has a gun, too(or lakeside/el cajon, so you know i'm not trying to pick on Texas, got nothin' but love for ya')....wouldn't want to be left out, right?

Cell phone, keys, wallet - it's a mantra I repeat to myself every morning when I leave home. I sometimes wear my watch as well.

Said another way: The best Offense is a good Defense (or sumptin' like dat). I carry mainly for defense against wild animals, they don't want to rob me, they just want to eat me. However, animals or people the best policy is use the ole noggin and stay away from any situation that is dangerous OR could TURN dangerous. It certainly doesn't take carrying a firearm to mandate personal responsibility or common sense.

Cheers-

Exactly...people seem to think that just because you carry that you look for a reason to use it. NOT TRUE at least I hope not. It is to be a last resort....always. IMO.

You ever drive from city to city in the middle of the night? Ever not stop to help some stranded motorist on the road because you were scared? I have helped at least 3 persons that were stuck inbetween austin and houston at night. And would not have done so if i was not armed.

That said I carry

-keys
-wallet
-cell phone
-leatherman Wave
-Beretta 9000 S .40 with a clip full of hydro shock hollow points!!
