What do you do when you lose something/someone that is extremely important?
So today, we played against the "best" team in our league for water polo, last game of the regular season. 3 Levels- Varsity (12 seniors and 1 junior) JV and FroshSoph. So for many, this was their last regular season home game, and our program has come so close. If we won this game for both Varsity and JV we would have won co-league champions for both levels with this team. The Varsity team has worked their ass off for 4 years most of them and damn they worked their asses off for all that time. They went from 1 win and 20 losses (4 years ago) to 20 wins and 8 losses this season. They were neck and neck, but then in the end, they lost by 3 goals.
How would you deal with the loss? It's your last game, and you're playing the best team in the league, you play your hearts out, but then in the end, you lose by a little. Would you feel that the 4 years have been a waste?

Yeah, like Seung said. If you put for the the effort and remember the times with your friends that's enough. The team is already winners for turning their whole record around, and getting to the finals. You still have time to keep going and maybe win a championship while they will move on to better and bigger. Graduating high school and going to college is so huge that this will be but a fond memory.
hmm, I thought it was something a little deeper than Waterpolo, glad to hear you didn't lose someone close to you... Time heals a lot of things, I'll tell ya that.. if it still lingers in your mind, keep busy and focus on the positives of the season, and look forward to next year...
If you older though, I'd suggest a good dosage of
, that heals all

Well, it wasn't me. I was just watching the varsity shake hands with the other team and it was definitely emotional watching their emotions. It was not easy looking at the people that worked so hard this year lose like that. I'm a freshman, but we lost also.. I worked hard this year, but obviously, it wasn't hard enough..

Winning doesn't determine how hard you work, you could be the hardest working person there, sometimes it's just not meant to be.. someone has to lose... our varsity football team lost in the championship game a couple years on the last play (botched field goal attempt in OT), ya they were down in the dumps, but like a week later, nobody really dwelled on it..
