I could haved called this, how I got an S2K for Christmas.

One year ago tonight at about this time I was coming home from being checked out at the hospital after my trusty old Miata had been totaled in a wreck. I had tried unsuccessfully to buy an S2000 on two occasions and the dealer raised the price both times after I agreed to buy the car. I'd pretty much decided to wait until the dealers removed their heads from their fannies but while Christmas shopping I heard of another dealer who had an S2K so I decided to check it out. So here I am less than a block from the dealership with the S2K in heavy 5 mph Xmas traffic when a young lady in a Camry traveling 55 plus in a 45 zone used me for target practice. She hit her brakes just as she hit me and somehow my bumper rolled under my car and lifted me up on her hood until her bumper hit my tires which sent me flying off. Wheeee!!!

Well my Miata was toast and I wasn't in any shape to look at the S2K a block away. As it turns out it was sold before I was able to get back to check on it. For the next few days I wasn't in any shape to do anything but dream about replacing the Miata with a S2000. After Christmas I started calling every Honda dealer I could find a number for. I got lucky on the 29th with a dealer a little over 200 miles away that agreed to sell the car for MSRP if I would buy it before they closed out the year the next day. Well heck, it wasn't like I had anything better to do!

Wrecking my Miata helped me have a belated but very Merry Christmas! Would I do it again? I'd still buy the car but I know I would prefer a less painful way to do it.

Have you ever heard the old song "Instant Karma's Gonna Get You" by John Lennon?
