Ok, I know its too soon to start conspiracy theories, but since neither the press and gov't has mentioned the fact that Bin Laden was US CIA trained I started thinking about other issues.

Like- "Dubya" (Bush) has been looking for something to increase his popularity. What if the intelligence info pointed to an event, but they just never predicted it would be this serious and so they watched the events unfold?

I mean Bush has been pushing to go to war like a hawk. Not to say that that is not the appropriate response, but more importantly, he's been pushing for huge defense budgets. After any terroist attack, he would have more ammunition to push for all the Defense Budgets. You think they'll get it now?

Bin Laden was trained in the 80's to help fight against Russia so I think that has no bearing on yesterday's events. We trained a guy a long time ago who turned against us. I don't think he called his old CIA buddies and told them what would happen and then Bush sat on it. Our country needs to pull together now, not come up with stuff like this.

Like the Kuwait thing.....

America has loads of bombs that are going to have to be decomission (they only have a certain useful life) and this is going to cost millions. They also know that Saddam is thinking of invading Kuwait. Behind the scenes America tells Saddam that they will not react to an invasion as long as he keeps the oil flowing. Saddam invades, America gets the backing of the UN to go in and bomb the hell out of him. America then gets paid via the UN for their costs of supplying the bombs, which saves millions on decomissioning and pays for the replacements. President's approval rating goes up. Everyone in the western world owes America gratitude (and a debt) for sorting Saddam out.....
