Remember... The US had advanced knowelge of the aproaching Japanese at Pearl Harbor.

They wanted a reason to get our citzens to support our joining WWII.

I definitely wouldn't be surprised if we did this ourselves, directly or indirectly.
But I choose not to believe it either way.

No, this is totally incorrect. Read "The Codebreakers" to see exact details of what and when we knew each bit of information. We had zero idea that they were approaching Pearl or that Pearl was even targeted.
