The inscription reads:

"One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them"

NERD!!!!!

Yeah, it's a copy of the ring of power from the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. That writing is supposed to be in the Elf Language I believe.

According to Tolkien's lore the only written languages at the time of the forging of the ring were Elvish.

Now how's that for nerdy!

It's not elvish, it's the language of Mordor.

Sorta

he Black Speech was likely based entirely on Valarin, as Morgoth and his Maiar (all of whom would have spoken Valarin) minions did not possess the Secret Fire, but were only able to corrupt things to their service. It may have also been based on Quenya.

I think the general thought was that there is a big difference between written and spoken language and the only written languages were Elivish or of a higher power like Valarin.
