Default What insurance do you guys use?

Well, I got a quote from 21st for the 02 S2K and they quoted me 400/mo. That's insane. That's for full coverage. I am 21 years old with a point on my record. What insurance do you all use? I know I can get a lot better than that.

I've insured with several companies over the years:

1) State Farm- gladly took my money for over 10 years but when my Integra GS-R was stolen, they refused to credit me for anti-lock brakes unless I showed them the original window sticker. I told them all GS-Rs came with ABS and asked them to call any Acura dealership to verify but they refused. They also stalled and stalled for months before I got paid. Never again, those scumbags.

2) Palisades- pretty good service but the rates kept going up despite no tickets, no accidents, nothing. I cancelled after inquiring about the then latest increase with their response being "that's the maximum we're allowed by the state to raise".

3) Geico- good rates and no problems so far. I have heard horror stories and pray that I won't have a claim in the future and have to deal with them.

USAA

great rates, absolutely invaluable service if anything happens.

Don't go for the cheapest, go for the best. If you have a claim with a cut-rate insurer, don't expect anything more than a cut-rate solution to your problem!

Many of the cheaper insurers will only use generic parts in repairs and some only pay black-book on totals. buyer beware.

I can say USAA pays full retail on totals, and that was when the at-fault's insurer low-balled me.

I just switched from Nationwide to Geico. I switched to Geico because I actually heard many good things about them. Their online website is the best I've ever seen. You can see your policy, bill amount, view and adjust your coverages, file a claim, and check on claims. You basically never have to call. I believe Geico is cheap because they cut out the insurance agent middleman.
