It's funny. On HA.net whenever another one of the roadsters would come up for discussion it seemed like we would all bring up the weakness of that car, something like "well the Boxster is nice but it's overpriced and our car is better" and then some Boxster owner would start a flame war with us. Same for the MR2 Spyder and a couple of the others. Then someone brought up the Miata and there was a general consensus of respect and like of that car, both for it's capabilities and for the fact that it brought back this category of car. Word got out that we were talking about the Miata and a bunch of Miata owners came over and we all had a real nice two way discussion about both cars (S2K and Miata). It was a very positive thread as opposed to the threads about most of the other roadsters.

 

I'd like to know what mods the guy had that allowed him to smoke a stook in second gear? Not bloody likely unless the Miata had been substantially breathed on.

 

Hmmm, I have searched for that thread where all the Miata guys came over and spread kudos amongst us, but I can't find it! I wanted to just post a link to that thread over there...

Can someone help me find it? My search turned up nothing...!

I have a good story for you guys....I am a very happy miata owner..but would be happier if I personally owned a S2000....but a friend of mine first drove my miata and fell in love with the car....but he is a big Honda fan so instead of buying a miata he went for the S2000....which is good for me because I now have access to a S2000 but I don't have to pay the monthly payements or the insurance rates........

The only thing that us at Miata.net ask is that the miata gets the credit in bringing back the roadster...so when you guys are doing your 0-60 runs in 5 seconds please remember why you are doing that...

Well this Miata owner thinks S2000s are pretty damn cool. Rallying around the home team is cool and all, but I'd be lying if I didn't say how much I liked the S2000. One can be a Miata enthusiast and yet still like *plenty* of other cars. Apparently some people don't realize that.

Of course, I also like the MR2S. I'm probably gonna have to say 20 Hail Mazda's after admiting that.

BTW, the kid who said he spanked an S2K in 2nd also had a BEGI IV @15psi. The psi gives it away, but that's a turbo. A very nice one at that.

 

Looking at any modern roadster, you have to give credit to the Miata...without it, there very likely would be no S2000. I just think that the S2000 took performance and value to another level.
