hey anDy-; i think in the UK they call it the "boy racer"syndrome.....pretty much the same idea.......funny thing tho in japan i saw more "boy racer" minis and lotus's than in london....and the local japanese home market cars were made up to look like pro rallye cars!!!

Andy the other UK term I've heard is 'Wide Boy', particularly in the Essex area. Am I right?

I have something called door poppers installed in the door lock mechanism. I push a button and the door pops ajar 1/4 inch. I have the same thing installed for the trunk also.

 

In England, we have Boy Racers.
The profile of a typical boy racer is :

Age 17 - 22
Always wears a baseball cap
Very spotty
Girlfriend about 15 - 16 years old (thinks he is brilliant because he has a car )
Has the loudest exhaust known to man
Has the loudest stereo system known to man
Makes it his personal challenge to drive 1 inch from your rear bumper (not in the stook )
Usually hangs around close to Mcdonalds drive-ins in packs of around 20 or so
Thinks beating old grannies off the lights is an achievement
