Default What temp do you keep your house in winter?

As a landlord, I hate when people turn the heat up to 80F when it gets cold out. All that does is works the hell out of my furnace.

It is barely even cold yet, but i stopped at a house today (not section 8, so he pays his own bills).... the guy had no shirt on and it must have been 80F+ in there... I keep my own heat at about 71F and wear a long sleave shirt....my kids don't ever complain about it being too cold, so it seems to work for us.

all of these poorer people (especially section 8 people) crank the heat up to HELL like temps then walk around in a pair of shorts and tank top.???? I guess when it is free who cares! assholes!!!

maybe they just wanna feel comfortable in short sleeve shirt and shorts. Who are you to tell them what to wear. If you don't want them to crank the heat up then raise the rent. Just like some people abuse using water when it is free.

My thermostat is programmed at 65 during the day when we're at work. Then it goes up to 68 at 4pm and if it's still chilly, we'll kick it up a notch. BAM!

Because they don't pay their rent on time!!!!!!!!

If I can't afford to pay my rent, I would be smart enough to not have a $200 a month heating bill.

I keep it at 68. If I'm cold, I'll put on a sweater or use a space heater. Why turn up the heat for the whole place when I'm only in one room?
